Biore UV Watery Essence (Review)

By everbluec · March 21, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

Recently Singapore launched the #1 Sunscreen in Japan - Biore UV watery Essence - a sunblock that was so light and moisturizing it doesn't feel like a sunblock.

This water-rich UV essence feels surprisingly light, refreshing and cooling on the skin that absorbed instantly without any greasy, sticky feel or white cast.

Leaders Insolution AC-Stop Basic Line

By everbluec · March 18, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

(Review)

Couple months ago, Leaders Insolution launched the AC-stop Basic Line in Watsons Singapore. A basic skincare line for blemishes and oily skin.

I love their AC-dressing mask (link) and always recommended for anyone who asked me about acnes problems or masks that helps to reduce redness and soothe the inflammation.

I may not have much breaking out NOW, but I do suffer from inflammation every now and then...so this range will come in handy when I need some solution.

Silky Conditioning Shampoo for your doggies

By everbluec · February 19, 2013 · 5 Comments ·

(Advertorial)

Silky. Glossy. Clean. Fragrant. Flea-free
Silky is made different than the normal dog shampoos sold in pet shops. Made by dog lovers, and with love, Silky is formulated based on what is good for the dog first. After all, our dogs are not just our pets. They are our family.

The secret in making a great dog shampoo lies in its formulation. All commercial dog shampoos contain chemicals to enhance the sticky feel and to create bubbles (lathering effect).

As manufacturers, they are aware that these chemicals do more harm than good to the dogs. They should know that lathering agent would decrease the cleaning effect of the dog shampoo. And most importantly, they should know that the "sticky feel" chemical agents, also called as surfactants are used in regular drain cleaners to kill off hair.

Thus if you tried other dog shampoos, your dog's hair will be rough, dry and wrinkly. You would need to spend on additional conditioner and hair spray. And these two work in the short term, but leaves the dogs' hair even worse in the long run. In the end, your dog will be entirely dependant on these products.

So why do they do that? 2 words. Profits and marketing gimmick.
They used low grade and cheap materials to replace high quality ingredients. Also pushed by advertising industry, they needed to create the bubbles and that sticky feel to fulfil the marketing gimmick.

How is Silky different?

We do not use any of those chemicals. We love our dogs too much to do such a thing. Silky is basically lye and oils. Added to the mix are essential oils from special flowers to enhance the fragrance and the anti-flea effect. Being perfectly balanced to suit dogs' hair and skin, Silky will bring out that silky feel and that glossy look from your dog's hair.

Read more about how they created this SIlky Conditioning Shampoo (Click)

I was provided a small bottle to try try and they also included a pack of Jer-High treats for Peapea and Buibui ^_^

The shampoo is really watery.. not thick and doesn't lather well cos this doesn't contain any harsh foaming or chemical agents. Which is pretty mild for our little furballs.

On Peapea... I used about 1/5 amount .. he doesn't have thick coat of fur and it pretty ok to spread  and get the shampoo all over his body. You can feel the foam, but doesn't have any visible foam on their fur,

As for buibui... her fur is soooo thick that I kinda use abit too much! I used almost half of the bottle

I suggest to apply the shampoo directly onto their fur instead of rubbing between your palm first (it's just wasting the shampoo .. lolx) and lather/massage into their coat/skin.

I like that it rinse off very easily consider the amount of shampoo I've put on them. The fur feel squeaky clean to touch. After towel/blow dry .. their fur feel airy, fluffy and soft.

To test out the shampoo, I keep them shower free for as long as I can to see how lasting this shampoo can be.

(Images showing here.. where they sniffing the shampoo bottle is day 12 (Reasonable timing for Buibui because I shower her every 2 weeks instead of one.. cos of her skin/coat condition - not suitable to shower every week)

On the first day of showing Peapea.. just towel dry(his fur dry quite fast) and without any "combing"... his fur look so neat and it feel clean and fluffy (Just like how we feel on just shampoo-ed dry hair....  airy, fluffy and soft)

I normally use baby shampoo on them.. and their fur always feel super soft. The reason I use baby shampoo and sometimes dandruff shampoo on buibui to stop the flaking(she tend to have abit of dandruff "sometimes")... was because dog shampoo don't cleanse well and they always make their fur feel dirty and greasy very easily.

This Silky Conditioning Shampoo feel nice and soft.. but I still prefer the softness I feel when using baby shampoo on Peapea.

But....baby shampoo not as mild and doesn't give Flea-free. (Hmm... althought they hardly have any "flea/tick" on them.)

Peapea fur still feel like freshly washed after 3 to 5 days
Peapea pics spam (too many and there all too cute not to share, lolx)
Peapea got irritated from all the picture taking! lolx
(Arrrggg~)
Buibui - She seriously need some grooming, her coat is getting too messy and long!!!!
(going to book an appointment for her soon)

Although I use alot of the shampoo on Buibui, the shampoo rinse off very cleanly and FAST!!

Squeaky clean feel on wet fur, and smooth, soft, airy and oh so fluffy. The smoothness is totally different as compare to Peapea.

I (We) like how it feel on buibui ... it feel clean, fluffy, airy and oh sooooo smooth~

And keep Buibui fur clean and airy for about 5-6 days and it start to feel like normal again... abit oily (all the oil came from us and their constant rolling on the floor! lolx).

Buibui suddenly get all camera shy and she keep hiding... so hard to take shoot her ...

LOTD in Loreal Color riche Les Ombres (Velours Noir)

By everbluec · February 10, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

Received a set of Loreal Color riche Les Ombres eyeshadow quads back in January 2013 (Swatches on all the quads will be up soon!!) These will be available at all Loreal counters in March/May 2013(Will find out and edit soon)

So in this post, I'm using Loreal Color riche Les Ombres in Velours Noir (E5).

Close Up

Taken with flash

To be frank, I wasn't too into this quad... "grey" just wasn't my favourite type of color to use on my lids(eyelids)... cos sometimes grey will make my eye look funky and messy (maybe cos I'm using  matte grey and fail all the time)

And when I show all the quads to my sisters... they all reached for this Grey/silvery quad!!! I told them they can have it after I tried it out. And boy.... the silvery, the frosty white and the frosty grey(which look abit "blue" on my skintone) shades are soooooo beautiful!

So beautiful that I used it almost everyday for the past week!! (Oops!! Kekekkee.. now I have to bid farewell to this pretty babe (Maybe I should keep it and get one for them?!?! See how I feels when I try the other quads ^_^)

Swatches in various lighting

Taken with flash

The eyeshadows feels creamy(not too creamy, wet type), very smooth and easy to blend... does have a tiny bit of fall out.

Do pack the eyeshadow tight onto the eyeshadow's brush and tap away the excess to prevent fall out.

I try it with the essence eyeshadow base (which by the way... not really a good primer/base), eyeshadow look nice and doesn't crease too crazily on my deep double eyelid folds. Which means... even without a base, this shadows will still show up nicely, vibrant and smooth on the lids. (IF you don't have a deep crease/double eyelid folds la)

And with Urban Decay Primer postion in EDEN, the shadows look abit more vibrant and last very well without much creasing.

The pictures taken by my camera was abit too bright (the color doesn't show up nicely... )

Below is a pic taken by samsung galaxy note front camera (which I have posted on my instagram) The silvery grey look more accurate and true to what I see from the mirror(lolx)

Bio Essence BIO Spring Water

By everbluec · February 9, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

Back in September 2012, Bio Essence launched BIO Spring Water. Said to have 20 Marvelous Results for Hair, Face & Body.

Uniquely low in mineral content yet rich in trace minerals to ensure 2X cooling, soothing, softening, moisturizing and anti-irritating effects.

Ideal for all skin types, Bio-essence Bio-Spring Water is the coolest spring water that yields the best soothing, anti-irritation and calming effects on skin. Adapting unique Bio-technology to combine Spring Water and Bio-Energy Fluid, Bio-Spring Water contains trace mineral to create energy to stimulate blood and oxygen circulation.

High Trace Minerals for Healthy Skin
Skin cells suffer from fatigue and skin dullness from environmental aggressions and mineral deficiencies. Trace minerals are essential minerals required by human health. It accelerates skin healing process and gives the skin sufficient hydration to improve on skin roughness.

Bio-essence Bio-spring Water contains high trace minerals which are the perfect, natural treatment to obtain optimum skin care health. While minerals are vital in modern skin care, higher mineral content releases more energy and heat which will be drying to the skin.

Spot the smaller bottle? I will be doing a giveaway for that in my next entry*

Unique Points with multi-efficacies for face, body and hair
Having unique composition, Bio-Spring water is specially low in mineral content and sodium chloride content yet rich in trace minerals, ensuring 2X effect for cooling and soothing sensitive and irritated skin.

Low in mineral content creates lesser energy and heat which is ideal for cooling and soothing sensitive and irritable skin. Low in Sodium Chloride of 2.432mg/l absorbs least skin moisture, ensures the best moisturizing effects. High Sodium Chloride content dehydrates skin as it absorbs moisture from the skin. Optimal pH value of 6.45 is closest to skin's natural pH value, is mild and  non-irritating.

Bio-essence Bio-Spring Water fits both genders and works for all age groups, not just for the face but also for the body and hair.

Directions of use:
Hold the bottle at a distance not less than 20 cm from targeted area and spray onto face/ skin/ hair and pat it dry gently. (Do not need to pat dry after makeup) .

Ingredients ::

After trying this out for about a month... here's my thoughts on this product ::

  •  The Spring water doesn't feel special.. it feels like water when first spray it on my face and body

  • The cooling effect does make skin feel soothing

  • I spray on a cotton pad(soak it up with spring water) an pat it all over my face (use it like toner/lotion) and it does feel really soothing.

  • Use after cleansing(shower) Doesn't feel too moisturing, cos skin still feels abit tight after the spring water absorbed into my skin. (anyway I'm applying serum/moisturizer right after)

  • It does feel abit moisturizing when I use it as face mist. (When skin feel tired)

  • When the spring water absorbed, my skin feel smooth (the powdery smooth type of feeling)

  • Not so calming on itchy spot like inflammation or skin irritation (which I always have on my legs)

  • I do enjoy using this a a pre-moisturizer spray/toner/lotion(whatever others name it) It made skin feels refreshed and ready for moisturizer.

  • It doesn't taste salty or bitter... just like plain water (Some spa water spray to have some "taste" to it.. I have tried Uriage/Vichy/la roche posay/ Avene/Evian ...)

  • When my scalp feels abit itchy (due to dryness), I spray some on the area and it does help! Scalp feel abit soothing. Most of the time if my scalp feel itchy due to "oilyness" I just use dry shampoo! (The powdery type works better then the "non powdery version)

  • As fix spray after makeup - it's doesn't cake up or make my foundation look patchy. It even out the over powdery finishing. Give skin a nice soft dewy glow.

Overall, I do like to use this as a pre-moisturizer toner/lotion... I love the cooling and refreshing sensation on my skin. After this is just "spring" water... they won't give much pression or irritation to sensitive skin.

Good product for sensitive, trouble or acne prone skin - cos this(or any of the spa/spring spray water) doesn't contain much irritant ingredients to cause a bundle to the already trouble skin.

*100ml can last for about 2 weeks of everyday use - day and night as pre-moisturizer "spray".

Prices::
SD$5.90     For  5ml
SD$12.90   For 100ml
SD$28.90   For 300ml

Gamila Secret Original (Review)

By everbluec · December 30, 2012 · 1 Comment ·

I first heard about Gamila Secret was thru the PR who contacted me... after hearing the story and belif of Gamila, I can't wait to try out the cleansing bar.

The Original Cleansing bar is suitable for the most sensitive skin types, even those that are allergic to essential oils. Ideal for the most sensitive skin types and for babies from 0 to 6 months.

Gently cleanse the most sensitive skin.
Hydrates, strengthens and protects the skin.

Beneficial effects:
Cleanses, soothes, restores & prevents irritations.

The Cleansing bar can be use on face, body, feet and even on intimate area.
Beside being a cleanser, body soap... the cleansing bar can be use as a shaving cream and facial mask.

To be use as mask.. apply the foam onto dry skin.... and leave it on for a few mins before rinising off.

Contain 100% natural ingredients with 15 herbs - the cleansing bar is mild enough for sensitive skin and babies.

This cleansing bar contain 80% olive oil and can be use as a mild makeup remover (for base makeup).

Ingredients list...

After using it for a month ...
2 week on body as body soap
5 weeks on face as cleanser/mild makeup remover

If I just wet my palm and rub the soap ... it won't produce as much foam, it got this slimey greasy feel that work well as a mask on the face.

Add more water to get more creamy foam (as shown below)

Here's my thought on this Original Cleansing bar
(After using it for about a month)

As a mild makeup remover::
I massage the foam onto dry skin (skin with foundation/makeup) ... can see the foam become abit beigey and it rinse of the makeup cleanly.... even eyeshadow!

As for mascara, I was using those Japanese mascara (that can be remove with warm water).. I tried to avoid removing mascara/eyemakeup with this cleansing bar... cos I don't like the "pain" when the foam gets into the eye!!!

This is a decent base makeup remover - suitable for someone (like my sisters) who only apply base(foundation and press powder) products.

^^^^^

As a Cleanser::

  • Cleanse well

Got the squeaky clean feel after rinising off the foam

  • Skin doesn't feel too tight after rinising off the foam
  • Feel quite hydrating
  • Doesn't cause any skin irritation
  • Doesn't cause any break-out
  • Skin feel smooth and soft
  • It smell like a herbal soap

^^^^^

As a body soap ::

  • It cleanse really well
  • Skin doesn't feel too drying
  • Does help to ease eczema itch and skin irritation

I was suffering from eczema outbreak last month, so I start using this as body soap... it keep my skin hydrated and ease skin irritation from all the scatching!

^^^^^

As dog's "shampoo"

I've tried using the cleansing bar on my dogs.... twice and both time, it work quite well on them. ^_^

I lather the soap up in a small pail of water (so no retouching the soap after I touch my dogs) and use the soapy foamy water to bath my dogs.

The natual ingredients used in the cleansing bar make it safe for dogs(pets)
With 80% of olive oil... it make their coat feel soft and smooth.
I see less skin irritation on my buibui (she has a habit of scatching)
(Not much of a review - just sharing my thought ^_~)
