Kate New Matte shade brows mascara (Swatch of BE-1 on brows)

By everbluec · May 12, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

Recently, Kate Cosmetics released 2 new matte shades brow mascara into their collection. I love their existing shimmery shades (gold and redish bronze). So when I saw the new matte shade, I just have to HAVE IT :b

Each brow's mascara retail at SD$14.90 Very reasonable - because I personally love their brow's mascara - I have original 2 shimmery shades - they are very lasting and coat the brows nicely without making a mess (I means not too wet).

A LOTD for my Cousin School Celebration at the Zoo

By everbluec · October 8, 2012 · 0 Comments ·

Went to the Zoo with my little aunt and my cousin last month (he's 11 yrs old and about 168cm!!!!! SO TALLLLLLLLL for his age) ... and I test out the vmv hypoallergenics Skin Savvy SPF 60 Liquid Foundation... It's hold up pretty well on humid weather (raining in the morning and super HOT sun in the afternoon till evening!)

Lancome Ombre Hypnose mono eyeshadow in Erika F is sure a pretty shimmery/glittery color!!!!

[Top taken with flash] [Bottem taken without flash - daylighting]

Products used::

  • Enavose Invisible Sunbrella UV Mist SPF45
  • vmv hypoallergenics Skin Savvy SPF 60 Liquid Foundation
  • Coastal scent liquid corrector in white (mix abit into the foundation to lighten/brighten up abit)
  • Lavshuca Pink Cheek (2012 Spring Limited collection)
  • Make Up For Ever Eye Prime
  • Lancome Ombre Hypnose mono eyeshadow in Erika F(I202)
  • K-palette 1 day Tattoo liquid brow liner in shade 1
  • Kate brows mascara
  • Bonavoce volume mascara
  • Bandai The Rose of Versailles Princess Antoinette Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Brown
  • Lancome Rouge In Love in 243M

(Products in blue font were provided by the company for consideration)

I have been trying out vmv hypoallergenics Skin Savvy SPF 60 Liquid Foundation for afew weeks now ....  It has a high medium coverage with semi matte finishing.  I do not feel that I need to set the foundation with a loose/pressed powder, so I didn't use any loose powder when I use this foundation.

The foundation feel nice on the skin, thought it might feel abit drying on dry skin (Suitable for all skin type - but I believe that combination to oily skin will love the texture)

On this LOTD... My skin was kinda normal (not drying nor oily) and the foundation last for 9hrs without any touching up.

KATE Mineral Liquid Foundation [Review]

By everbluec · July 24, 2012 · 3 Comments ·

Few months ago, I won this Liquid foundation thru Cosmopolitan Singapore Facebook page giveaway. (They ran a series of products giveaway from various brands almost everyday back in March). I won the KATE Mineral Liquid foundation in shade OC-C (this is the common shade)

I can't find the ingredients list in english for this product.

Swatches in various lighting...
This shade OC-C was like about 1 to 2 shades darker then my usual foundation shade... but on my face, it wasn't that dark (just made me look abit warm).

For your info:::
My face is way darker then my whole body... so I need a brighter foundation to even out everything. I have KATE Lasting cover liquid foundation in BR-C.. the shade match me really well!

Here's the side by side comparison of the shades.

Half face... on strong day lighting, the shade doesn't look soo obvious.. but it does cover and even out all the uneven complexion.

When the foundation set.. my face does look abit warm (tired).
(it's not the foundation fault, I just need the "right" shade- lolx)

Anyway, put the shade aside... and focus on how I feel about the foundation after using it for a couple of weeks.

  • The foundation shade is buildable from sheer to light medium coverage
  • Foundation feel pretty moist/watery, easy to spread around the face.
  • Feels like a bbcream texture
  • Doesn't feel too heavy nor cakey on the skin
  • Pretty Lightweight
  • Last a good 5-8hrs depend on the weather conditions. (If I stay indoor- it can last up to 8hrs)
  • Doesn't cause any irritation
  • Doesn't cause any break-out during the time I use this foundation.
  • it has a semi matte finishing
  • oil control was pretty average

Side note:
My skin has become more and more better... skin doesn't feel dry nor tight
(but do look abit dry after applying foundation)
I'm back to mild oily combination skin ^__^
My nose and forehead will start to (shine) after afew hours...

I dont look much different under bright day lighting.

[Taken with flash] With flash can see the shade look warm on me...

By everbluec · May 6, 2012 · 4 Comments ·

April 2012 (Singapore), Trend setting Japanese cosmetics brand - KATE launched their highly anticipated Spring Summer Collection that is perfectly in tune with the best looks of the season.

Stepping away from dramatic hues of Fall Winter to embrace the softer and more lustrous colors of Spring Summer. This collection focuses largely on creating softly shades, lightly textured and contoured eyes.

KATE Cosmetics sent me 3 products from this new collection to try it out and review.
(I will try these out for sometimes before I update with a Look/review entry on these 3 products.)

Kate Real Create Eyes

Kate Art Dial Mascara
Price: SD$27

Bold and revolutionary, the Kate Art Dial Mascara is fitted with a tilted comb applicator that lengthens, maximises and curls lashes all at once.

The comb allows excellent lash separation, preventing possible clumping while fully coating each strand evenly. The lashes are simultaneously lifted from the base and curled or lengthened according to preference, with the lift and curl maintained by a fast-drying adhesive fluid.

The Kate Art Dial Mascara also prevents the mascara from drying up prematurely by a special twisting mechanism that dispenses fluid only when the dial-comb is turned. A great choice for lower lashes as well.

Twist to release mascara wax...

Twisted out the mascara wax...
The amount shown in the pic below are about 4 twists(to show you how it look when the wax flow out). Normally 1 to 2 twists is enough.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Foundation

By everbluec · April 10, 2012 · 4 Comments ·

A very basic LOTD post featuring Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Foundation...

>>> The foundation feel abit sheer with buildable coverage (up to medium coverage)
>>> Dewy finishing.
>>> Very moisturizing
>>> When I first apply the foundation, it feel really smooth abit like serum. Doesn't have the consistency of a liquid nor cream foundation.
>>> Very easy to spread around the face.
>>> Doesn't feel thick nor sticky.. (lightweight)

I like the texture alot... almost like the foundation was infused with silicon - but without the greasy type of smoothness and thickness. I should say the foundation feel like a primer - but with foundation coverage. Kekekeke :b

As for shade wise - it look abit redish, you know like bbcream type of red tint (not those blue pink type tint) .. it doesn't look too dark/warm on my skin, but I just wish that they have a brighter shade so that my skin would look brighter.

I used to have combination skin (abit oily) but for these few months, my skin feel more like combination dry skin (it doesn't oil up when I'm outside the whole day and it will start to feel tight after awhile).

BUT, is getting better and better, all thanks to Belif ^_^
Now it just feel like normal skin with abit of sebum around nose, chin and forehead (and feel abit dry after cleansing - no more painful and tight feeling(Yeah!)). Normally, I just use a piece of tissue to lightly dap over the areas where I feel abit oily.

Personally, I feel that this foundation are more suitable for adult skin(all skin type). As for teens who have combination skin, this might feel abit too rich(in moisturizing).

[LOTD] ansley New York - Pure Pop superstar eyeshadow & Gel eyeliner

By everbluec · March 4, 2012 · 4 Comments ·

OK, so this is a normal LOTD ^__^

A LOTD using the ansley New York - Pure Pop superstar eyeshadow & Gel eyeliner in Silky Browny Smokey.

This was one of the item in the February 2012 Bellabox

The pigmentation of the brown shadow was pretty average, not so pigmentated that I look like I've got a "punch" in the eyes look. The shadow feel smooth, abit powdery(when using a brush), easy to blend and the pigmentation was quite buildable (The swatches below was about 3 swipes).

Lolx... I look like a mad woman!

LOTD: ZA Eyes Groovy Aqua Squash

By everbluec · February 5, 2012 · 3 Comments ·

In this LOTD, I'm using the ZA Eyes Groovy in #04 Aqua Squash.

The shades was quite bright and fun, but not as soild and intense. It's bright enough to give a pop of color and still quite tone down for day time or work appropriate.

I'm using the blue on my whole lid and the aqua shade on the crease. (The aqua shade doesn't show up well on camera -_-")

Follow by any skin tone shade as brow's highlight/clean up (I'm using the CANMAKE setting powder). Line the eyes with ZA liquid liner and then set it with the navy blue shade(the one at the bottem right corner).

Use the lime green on my outer lower lash line and use any white frosty eyeshadows(or any pale white highlighter) on the inner corner of the eyes.

The eyeshadows from the Eyes Groovy was finely-milled ... not chalky at all and it doesn't have any fall-outs

ZA Cheeks groovy, the shades was pretty light but buildable. Good staying power and doesn't feel chalky too!

As for the highlight shade (June Bride).. the color doesn't show up like the swatches, just pale goldish tone(not too yellowish gold).. just a nice highlight sheen.

[LOTD] Testing out Teint Miracle Compact Foundation

By everbluec · January 13, 2012 · 8 Comments ·

Yes, another LOTD using "green" ... this time, using Peripera ‘Flash Color Eyes’ stick eye shadow as base.

Please excuse my brows... they are getting thicker and thicker!!!!

Peripera ‘Flash Color Eyes’ stick eye shadow work nicely as a color base, but not good as a primer... it creases right after I finished my whole face! So remember to use a good primer before using the "flash color eyes" stick shadow.

Products used:
- Hanskin Suncream
- Lancome Teint Miracle Compact Foundation
- Lancome Teint Miracle Liquid Foundation
- MAC Instant Chic Blush
- Peripera ‘Flash Color Eyes’ stick eye shadow
- MAC eyeshadows in Rated "R", Crystal avalanche, soba and carbon
- Kate brow's mascara
- esprique washable mascara
- Guerlain Rouge Automatique in 140 mitsouko
[Products in blue font were provided by the company]

Initial thoughts on the Teint Miracle Compact Foundation.....
->>>> Feel really smooth and light on the skin
->>>> It does minimized pores (but it do not much good on "super" large pores... lolx)
->>>> But this work really well with Lancome LA base
->>>> Oil control was pretty average (slightly better then the liquid foundation)

Still trying the compact powder with various primers, base(bbcream/liquid foundation) Will do a full review soon.
