Rachel K Cosmetics Radiance Illuminator Collagen + Lotus Stem Cell Hydrogel Mask [Review]

By everbluec · July 29, 2012 · 2 Comments ·

July 2012, Rachel K Cosmetics launched their Skincare line - SEE THE DIFFERENCE with Stem Cell technology

Hydrogel masks deliver 11-18% more moisture that traditional skincare sheet masks. The Hydrogel melts unto the skin, reaching directly to your skin's temperature.  It effectively locks in moisture while its Trans-Dermal Technology allows hydrating agents to penetrate at levels twice greater than other moisturizers.

This easy-to-use mask has stem Cells extracted from the lotus flower, which promote the division of skin cells, enhancing the skin's intrinsic ability to renew itself. Its gel-like texture contours the face leaving it soft and hydrated, while refining fine lines and wrinkles.

Its cool and refreshing formula, coupled with powerful bio-cleansing abilities, removes dead skin cells, cleans, refines and leaves skin smooth and glowing.

For normal, oily or acne-prone skin, its natural extracts work to clear out pores without irritation, while its hydrating ingredients deliver oil free moisture, ensuring that the skin is never over dried and alwasy vibrant.

Ingredients list.....

  • Intense oil-free moisture
  • Brighten dull skin
  • Tighten pores
  • Refines fine lines
  • Controls sebum
  • Calms and soothes
  • Tones and Refreshes

Temperature Sensitive Soluble Hydrogel mask
1 sheet (30g) = 1 essence Bottle (30g)

Review based on the initial thought of the mask. (One application - since mask is temporary relief for different type of skin concerns.)

  • The mask is seperated into 2 parts for best fitting on the face contour.
  • I find the mask is abit "small" (short) for my chubby face.
Because the top mask only cover half of my forehead and didn't cover much on my inner cheeks.
  • soft gel type of mask
(great type of mask for intense moisturizing)
  • Feel really refreshing and soothing
  • Very moisturizing
  • Didn't see any visible improvement on fine lines
  • Pores look less drying (Pores look less "deep")
  • Doesn't have the stingy sensation (GOOD!!!)
  • Didn't cause any irritation during the 40mins of masking
  • No breaking-out
  • Skin texture feel refine and smooth
  • My complexion look fresh and brighten up after the 40mins of masking

(Really brighten up my skin - even on my already fair skintone, I still notice the "whiten" effect!)

I do notice that I didn't release much sebum the next day - so this mask does aid in "oil-control" department.

See.. I tried to pull the mask near to my nose without breaking the mask....

Available at Selected Watsons

Sunplay Watery Cool sunblock SPF 65 PA+++ and Watery Cool Mist SPF75 PA+++ [Review]

By everbluec · July 29, 2012 · 2 Comments ·

In April 2012 (Singapore), Mentholatum Sunplay the No1 sunscreen brand in Japan released Watery Cool Sunblock and Watery Cool mist fomula with their new Patented Solarex 3 in 1 technology.

Love the cute penguin cartoon image on the bottle!

I have been wanting to try this when I saw it at Watsons and the "yellow" bottle one (In taiwan, it was labelled for sensitive skin, but Singapore, it labelled as Kid's sunscreen) ... Will get them when I finished some of my "rotating sunblock/sunscreen that I'm using NOW.

Sunplay Watery Cool sunblock SPF 65 PA+++

An sunscreen that repels both UV and Heat away...

The New Solarex-3 technology is developed by The Mentholatum Co. to provide a unique UV defense system.

  • Provides superior photo stable protection against UVA & UVB
  • RonaCare Ectoin & Antileukine 6, 2 anti-aging ingredients helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyaluronic Acid effectively hydrates and locks-in moisture on skin

  • Low Irritation
  • No Colorants
  • With Moisturizing ingredients

Spread out...

The texture feels rather similar to Sunplay Super Block(with SOLAREX-3) and Original version.

My thoughts after using this for 3weeks.....

  • The Sunplay watery cool sunblock feel rather similar to the Sunplay Super block with SPF 130.
  • Very watery easy to smooth out on the skin
  • Feel minty cooling on the skin - refreshing
[If applying around eye's areas.. please wait till it fully absorbed then open the eyes, else it would be super icy around the rim of the eyes.]
  • easily absorbed into the skin
  • Does feel abit oily...  more of a silky type of oilyness.
[Feel abit less oily as compare to the Sunper block]
  • Doesn't feel sticky nor stuffy on the skin
  • Does leave a dewy white cast, the "white" will went away after the lotion fully absorbed
  • No residues.
  • Doesn't cause any skin irritation
  • Didn't cause any break-out
  • Quite moisturizing (but I still layer moisturizer on tope)
  • Skin doesn't feel tight nor drying after wearing it for a few hours
[Because of the minty feel, I thought this will be drying on the skin, but it doesn't!]
  • Doesn't changed the formula of my base makeup when layering ontop of the sunblock
(I apply sunblock before any skincare/base products)
  • Decent sunblocking power for normal outing under

Ingredients list.... [Click to enlarge]

This have a soft refreshing citrusy scent...

  • The mist feel pretty light
  • Abit oily but absorbed into the skin really well and fast.
[The oily feel wasn't too strong, feel more like natural skin "oily" texture]
  • Doesn't feel sticky nor stuffy on the skin
  • Doesn't cause any irritation on my skin
(didn't use this on my face)
  • Doesn't have any white cast on the skin
  • No residue
  • Decent sunblock power for normal day outing
Didnt put this on good test, cos I didn't stay under the sun for long hours.
  • Feel super cooling and refreshing on the skin

This UV body mist spray was pretty light in texture and non sticky. when I first spray it on my arm, it feel abit wet, oily and very cooling. Once it absorbed into the skin, it won't feel oily or wet anymore. This UV body Mist abosbed really fast, so no worries about it being wet and oily at first. And the finishing was pretty nice, give my skin a pretty healthy glow and suprising that it was pretty moisturizing too.
