Swatches of the lip gels...

Juicy Oily glossy lips....

:

I have been rotating all 3 lip gels for about a month and now... here's my thought on these juicy lip gels ^_^

:

On the texture and feel on all the lip gels

  • All 3 of them feels moist, oily and moisturizing on the lips
  • Doesn't have the heavy waxy feel
  • Pretty lightweight
  • lips feel moist and supple
  • And even when I blot away the excess gel on the lips, it still feel moisturizing for a few hours.
  • All 3 work great for overnight moisturizing on the lips in AirCon room.
[I use all 3 as my overnight, sleep in lip treatment - cos I sleep in AirCon room MOST of the time.]

Sometimes when lips are tight and dry (for sensitive lips)...  lips will feel abit sore and itchy, all 3 of them does help in soothing the lips. But I will reach for the Vitamin Lip Gel.

:

:

Mentholatum Medicated Vitamin Lip Gel

  • This feel minty and very soothing on the lips.
  • Ease tight, dry, crack and painful lips very well
  • Very moisturizing

I find that this is the best in healing among all 3 lips gel for crack, flaky, dry and painful lips.

:

Mentholatum Medicated Q10 & Ceramide Lip Gel

  • Does ease tight and dry lips
  • smooth out fine dry lines on the lips
  • moisturizing (The least moisturizing one as compare to the other two)
  • Lips feel soft and smooth

:

:

Mentholatum Hyaluronic acid & Gollagen Lip Gel

  • Super moisturizing
  • Very moist on the lips
  • lips feel supple
  • does ease crack, tight and dry lips

Rachel K Cosmetics Radiance Illuminator Collagen + Lotus Stem Cell Hydrogel Mask [Review]

By everbluec · July 29, 2012 · 2 Comments ·

July 2012, Rachel K Cosmetics launched their Skincare line - SEE THE DIFFERENCE with Stem Cell technology

Hydrogel masks deliver 11-18% more moisture that traditional skincare sheet masks. The Hydrogel melts unto the skin, reaching directly to your skin's temperature.  It effectively locks in moisture while its Trans-Dermal Technology allows hydrating agents to penetrate at levels twice greater than other moisturizers.

This easy-to-use mask has stem Cells extracted from the lotus flower, which promote the division of skin cells, enhancing the skin's intrinsic ability to renew itself. Its gel-like texture contours the face leaving it soft and hydrated, while refining fine lines and wrinkles.

Its cool and refreshing formula, coupled with powerful bio-cleansing abilities, removes dead skin cells, cleans, refines and leaves skin smooth and glowing.

For normal, oily or acne-prone skin, its natural extracts work to clear out pores without irritation, while its hydrating ingredients deliver oil free moisture, ensuring that the skin is never over dried and alwasy vibrant.

Ingredients list.....

  • Intense oil-free moisture
  • Brighten dull skin
  • Tighten pores
  • Refines fine lines
  • Controls sebum
  • Calms and soothes
  • Tones and Refreshes

:
Temperature Sensitive Soluble Hydrogel mask
1 sheet (30g) = 1 essence Bottle (30g)

Review based on the initial thought of the mask. (One application - since mask is temporary relief for different type of skin concerns.)

  • The mask is seperated into 2 parts for best fitting on the face contour.
  • I find the mask is abit "small" (short) for my chubby face.
Because the top mask only cover half of my forehead and didn't cover much on my inner cheeks.
  • soft gel type of mask
(great type of mask for intense moisturizing)
  • Feel really refreshing and soothing
  • Very moisturizing
  • Didn't see any visible improvement on fine lines
  • Pores look less drying (Pores look less "deep")
  • Doesn't have the stingy sensation (GOOD!!!)
  • Didn't cause any irritation during the 40mins of masking
  • No breaking-out
  • Skin texture feel refine and smooth
  • My complexion look fresh and brighten up after the 40mins of masking

(Really brighten up my skin - even on my already fair skintone, I still notice the "whiten" effect!)

I do notice that I didn't release much sebum the next day - so this mask does aid in "oil-control" department.

See.. I tried to pull the mask near to my nose without breaking the mask....

Available at Selected Watsons
Price : SD$5.90

Sunplay Watery Cool sunblock SPF 65 PA+++ and Watery Cool Mist SPF75 PA+++ [Review]

By everbluec · July 29, 2012 · 2 Comments ·

In April 2012 (Singapore), Mentholatum Sunplay the No1 sunscreen brand in Japan released Watery Cool Sunblock and Watery Cool mist fomula with their new Patented Solarex 3 in 1 technology.

Love the cute penguin cartoon image on the bottle!

I have been wanting to try this when I saw it at Watsons and the "yellow" bottle one (In taiwan, it was labelled for sensitive skin, but Singapore, it labelled as Kid's sunscreen) ... Will get them when I finished some of my "rotating sunblock/sunscreen that I'm using NOW.

^_^

:

:

Sunplay Watery Cool sunblock SPF 65 PA+++
Price: SD$17.20 [35g]

An sunscreen that repels both UV and Heat away...

The New Solarex-3 technology is developed by The Mentholatum Co. to provide a unique UV defense system.

  • Provides superior photo stable protection against UVA & UVB
  • RonaCare Ectoin & Antileukine 6, 2 anti-aging ingredients helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyaluronic Acid effectively hydrates and locks-in moisture on skin

  • Low Irritation
  • No Colorants
  • With Moisturizing ingredients

Ingredients list... [Click to enlarge]

Spread out...

The texture feels rather similar to Sunplay Super Block(with SOLAREX-3) and Original version.

My thoughts after using this for 3weeks.....

  • The Sunplay watery cool sunblock feel rather similar to the Sunplay Super block with SPF 130.
  • Very watery easy to smooth out on the skin
  • Feel minty cooling on the skin - refreshing
[If applying around eye's areas.. please wait till it fully absorbed then open the eyes, else it would be super icy around the rim of the eyes.]
  • easily absorbed into the skin
  • Does feel abit oily...  more of a silky type of oilyness.
[Feel abit less oily as compare to the Sunper block]
  • Doesn't feel sticky nor stuffy on the skin
  • Does leave a dewy white cast, the "white" will went away after the lotion fully absorbed
  • No residues.
  • Doesn't cause any skin irritation
  • Didn't cause any break-out
  • Quite moisturizing (but I still layer moisturizer on tope)
  • Skin doesn't feel tight nor drying after wearing it for a few hours
[Because of the minty feel, I thought this will be drying on the skin, but it doesn't!]
  • Doesn't changed the formula of my base makeup when layering ontop of the sunblock
(I apply sunblock before any skincare/base products)
  • Decent sunblocking power for normal outing under

:

:

:

Sunplay Watery Cool Mist SPF 75 PA+++
Price : SD$17.90 [150ml]

An easy to apply sunscreen with high SPF protection that repels harmful UV rays away.

  • Water resistant, long lasting for all kinds of outdoor activities
  • Easy to apply one touch aerosol spray, appllies evenly to whole body
  • Its Icy cool Menthol formulation gives refreshing relief on hot sunny day
  • Non-greasy and light

Ingredients list.... [Click to enlarge]

This have a soft refreshing citrusy scent...

  • The mist feel pretty light
  • Abit oily but absorbed into the skin really well and fast.
[The oily feel wasn't too strong, feel more like natural skin "oily" texture]
  • Doesn't feel sticky nor stuffy on the skin
  • Doesn't cause any irritation on my skin
(didn't use this on my face)
  • Doesn't have any white cast on the skin
  • No residue
  • Decent sunblock power for normal day outing
Didnt put this on good test, cos I didn't stay under the sun for long hours.
  • Feel super cooling and refreshing on the skin

This UV body mist spray was pretty light in texture and non sticky. when I first spray it on my arm, it feel abit wet, oily and very cooling. Once it absorbed into the skin, it won't feel oily or wet anymore. This UV body Mist abosbed really fast, so no worries about it being wet and oily at first. And the finishing was pretty nice, give my skin a pretty healthy glow and suprising that it was pretty moisturizing too.

RoC Gommage Doux Lissant Soft Smoothing scrub [Review]

By everbluec · July 28, 2012 · 0 Comments ·

It's been awhile since I review any facial's scrub products. One of the main reasons was .... I have been avoiding it(kekekee) until I read that this is a gentle scrub for all skin types even sensitive skin... so I decided to give this a try.

Read more about RoC Soft Smoothing Scrub [here]

I "LOVE" the squeeze tube because it NOT "messy" (especially inside of the cap), after using it for more then 2 months.... the tube still look new and NEAT!!! (I keep this in the bathroom - share with my mum and sister)

Ingredients list....

:

Have been using this scrub once per week for 2 months.
(Recommend to use every 2 days - about 2 to 3 times per week).

:

  • The scrub feels like a cream cleanser that doesn't foam up.
  • Easy to spread out, feel quite moist.
  • Contain 2 different beads sizes that doesn't feel too harsh on the skin.
(spherical pink soft beads that comes in irregular shapes with angles and ridges that made with polythelene)
  • The mixture of the scrub is about 70% cream and 30% beads
  • Doesn't cause any irritation
  • No breaking-out while using the scrub
  • Most of the time, I just focus the scrub on my nose(T-zone) and chin.
  • Doesn't feel too drying nor too rich
  • Skin doesn't feel dry nor tight after rinising off the scrub
  • Skin feel cleans and it does help to reduce the chances of "clogged pores"

Most scrub will leave a very soft and smooth skin texture after "scrubbing"...  this is common because we just polished the skin with "beads/sea-salt/shell/sugar". Which might be too harsh on certain skin types (like dry/sensitive/blemishes skin types).

This gentle scrub also make skin feel smooth.. but it's doesn't feel that "polished". More like when you just use water to wash your face, the skin feel clean but still have that slightly natural oil but abit more refined skin texture.

I still use cleansing water that contain AHA+BHA (mild "scrub" to remove old horny layer) as my daily mild exfoliator (and skip it if I'm going to used the RoC Gentle scrub)....  Trying to reduce the irritation from "harshness" of the beads rubbing against my sensitive skin.

For these pass 2 months, I've been thru the period of dry skin to combination skin (NOW I'm back to my normal skin condition but less oily). And during both phase, this scrub doesn't cause any problems on my skin.

Price: SD$30 [125ml]
Available at selected Guardian, Watsons, Nishino Shaw House and Essential pharmacy from May 2012.

KATE Mineral Liquid Foundation [Review]

By everbluec · July 24, 2012 · 3 Comments ·

Few months ago, I won this Liquid foundation thru Cosmopolitan Singapore Facebook page giveaway. (They ran a series of products giveaway from various brands almost everyday back in March). I won the KATE Mineral Liquid foundation in shade OC-C (this is the common shade)

I can't find the ingredients list in english for this product.

Swatches in various lighting...
This shade OC-C was like about 1 to 2 shades darker then my usual foundation shade... but on my face, it wasn't that dark (just made me look abit warm).

For your info:::
My face is way darker then my whole body... so I need a brighter foundation to even out everything. I have KATE Lasting cover liquid foundation in BR-C.. the shade match me really well!

Here's the side by side comparison of the shades.

Half face... on strong day lighting, the shade doesn't look soo obvious.. but it does cover and even out all the uneven complexion.

When the foundation set.. my face does look abit warm (tired).
(it's not the foundation fault, I just need the "right" shade- lolx)

Anyway, put the shade aside... and focus on how I feel about the foundation after using it for a couple of weeks.

  • The foundation shade is buildable from sheer to light medium coverage
  • Foundation feel pretty moist/watery, easy to spread around the face.
  • Feels like a bbcream texture
  • Doesn't feel too heavy nor cakey on the skin
  • Pretty Lightweight
  • Last a good 5-8hrs depend on the weather conditions. (If I stay indoor- it can last up to 8hrs)
  • Doesn't cause any irritation
  • Doesn't cause any break-out during the time I use this foundation.
  • it has a semi matte finishing
  • oil control was pretty average

Side note:
My skin has become more and more better... skin doesn't feel dry nor tight
(but do look abit dry after applying foundation)
I'm back to mild oily combination skin ^__^
My nose and forehead will start to (shine) after afew hours...

I dont look much different under bright day lighting.

[Taken with flash] With flash can see the shade look warm on me...

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Collection

By everbluec · July 21, 2012 · 0 Comments ·

The new addition of Origins Plantscription anti-aging collection will be launch in August 2012 island-wide(Singapore).

Ever since Hippocrates, father of modern medicine advised "let plants be your medicine," plants and other natural products have historically been the largest contributors to the modern pharmacy and cosmetics industry.

Origins has again leveraged the natural power of plants in the award-winning Plantscription Anti-aging collection, with formulations that contain Anogeissus tree bark extract, an anti-aging ingredient that delivers extraordinary skin care results.

:

:

Plantscription Anti-aging cleanser
Price : SD$53.00 [150ml]

The perfect starting point for your Plantscription anti-aging regimen, this foaming cleanser utilizes potent plants to thoroughly wash away dirt, makeup and impurities in one simple step.

The gentle cleansing system contains the breakthrough anti-aging ingredient, Anogeissus, along with Oat Protein and Jasmine Flowers to condition skin and preserve the vital moisture balance.

Dead Skin cells are quickly dislodged and released, encouraging a smooth, refreshed, more youthful looking complexion. Soothing Aloe Vera calms and soothes skin.

Ideal for all skin types.

Plantscription Anti-Aging eye cream
Price : SD$78.00 [15ml]

The eyes may be the windows to the soul, but the fragile skin around the eyes is thinner than facial skin, so they become one of the most significant visual markers when it comes to the perception of age. Skin weakens as we grow older, leading to a complexity of problems including a descreased ability to repair.

Plantscription Anti-Aging eye cream is a rich, ultra-hydrating eye cream that quickly absorbs and addresses four major signs of aging including crow's feet, cross-hatching lines, under eye troughs and lid crepiness, while also helping to visibly lift and firm the eye area.

Anogeissus helps minimize the appearance of lines, wrinkles and crease while Centaurium restores elasticity and bounce to flaccid eye area skin and Kombucha (fermented Black Tea) lifts and firms. Magnolia and Cucumber help reduce the appearance of dark circles. Hydrating plant actives Squalane and Jojoba moisturize and reduce fine lines. Proven safe and gentle for all skin types.

:

:

:

Plantscription Anti-Aging eye treatment
Price : SD$78.00 [15ml]

As a lightweight alternative to Plantscription Anti-Aging eye cream, this eye treatment is a fast-penetrating gel that visibly repairs four visible signs of eye-area aging including the appearance of crow's feet, cross hatching abd crepey lids while lifting and firming saggy skin.

Formulated with a potent combination of Anogeissus Tree Bark as well as Kombucha (fermented Black Tea), elasticity and turgor are ushered back into the age-hollowed eye area for more youthful-looking skin.

Saft for all skin types.

:

[Left eyecream][right eye treatment gel]

[Left eyecream][right eye treatment gel]

The texture of both eye treatment and eye cream feel nice on the back of my hand.
I prefer the cream, cos it creamy and absorb well into the skin - where the eye treatment feels abit too lightweight (might feel different on the skin around the eyes )

Some random shots, I took at the meet up at the Prive Restaurant.

Received the Cleanser, lotion and eye treatment. Will try it out for sometimes before doing a review on it.
